Seam-bowler Ryan admits his surprise rise into Warwickshire's first-team was "pretty unbelievable."
In March 2013, he played one first-class game for his native Victoria but after that, troubled by foot injuries, the call never came again. Released by Victoria, in 2017 he decided to take a punt and try his luck in England. He signed for Berkswell in the Birmingham League - and bowled so well that by midsummer he was making his Warwickshire debut in a championship win over Middlesex at Lord's.
Having bowled consistently well from that point on, 'Sid' earned himself a contract for 2018 and soon got among the wickets again to embed himself in the squad as a man whose skills suit English conditions.
