Wolverhampton-born all-rounder Matt got his first taste of sustained championship cricket for the Bears last season and acquitted himself well with two half-centuries.
A product of North Bromsgrove School and Barnt Green CC, Matt has been in the Bears' system since the age of nine. He has scored consistently for the 2nd XI last season, peaking in 2016 with a double-hundred and a hundred in successive innings.
A batsman who can score at whatever tempo the team needs, Matt is also a useful medium-pace bowler who worked hard with bowling coach Graeme Welch last winter. He promises to be a valuable all-round component of the Bears squad for years to come.
