Warwickshire fast bowler Chris Wright has agreed a move to Leicestershire on a two-year contract at the end of current season.
Wright (32) initially joined Warwickshire on loan towards the end of the 2011 season but made the move permanent soon after. He subsequently led the bowling attack with Keith Barker in the following season to help the Bears secure their seventh County Championship title, taking 67 First Class wickets in the process.
He also featured for Birmingham Bears when they were crowned champions of the T20 Blast at Edgbaston in 2014 and led the attack for Warwickshire in the 2016 Royal London One-Day-winning campaign.
Chris has won all major trophies across all formats and he has been a great servant to Warwickshire and Birmingham Bears for seven years.

To date for Warwickshire he has taken 249 First Class wickets, 37 List A wickets and 17 T20 wickets for Birmingham Bears.

“Graeme Welch first alerted us to his talents in 2011, when he was struggling to break into the Essex first team. However, he made an immediate impression when he joined us at Edgbaston and soon formed one of the most potent new ball attacks in the country with Keith Barker.
“He’s now in the latter stages of his career, so has had to carefully consider his options, but he will leave Edgbaston with everybody’s best wishes in his next challenge with Leicestershire.”
Chris Wright said: “I would like to thank everybody involved at Warwickshire for making my time at the club so special.
“I am delighted to have represented the club during one of its most successful periods and it was a pleasure to play under the management group of Ashley Giles, Keith Cook, Graham Welch, Dougie Brown and Jim Troughton who have always supported me. It was also a huge honour to play with some amazing cricketers and great friends over the past seven years.”
