Warwickshire County Cricket Club has unveiled its first Official Cider Partnership by agreeing a new deal with Herefordshire-based Westons to supply to Edgbaston Stadium.

The two-year partnership will see Westons serve its famous Stowford Press Cider, which is already the Official Cider of England Cricket, at Edgbaston for domestic and international match days as well as the many conference and events that it hosts.

Gareth Roberts, Commercial Director at Warwickshire County Cricket Club, said: “With our first international of the summer just around the corner, it’s fantastic to secure this new partnership with Westons and ensure that Stowford Press can be served at bars around the stadium.

“With Edgbaston hosting 18 days of major match cricket during the two-year term of the partnership, including an Investec Test Match and NatWest T20 Blast Finals in each year, it’s a great time to join our partnership programme and we look forward to working with the Westons team.”

Edgbaston hosts the second match of the Royal London One-Day International series between England and Sri Lanka this Friday (24 June), which is followed by the third Test of the Investec Series between England and Pakistan from Wednesday 3 to Sunday 7 August. It hosts it’s eighth NatWest T20 Blast Finals Day on Saturday 20 August.

Phoebe Small, Stowford Press brand manager at Westons Cider, says: “We are delighted to have formed this partnership with Warwickshire CCC and Edgbaston Stadium, and we are looking forward to working together during the next two years. The partnership will see Westons Stowford Press showcased to over 420,000 discerning consumers at the venue in the next year alone.

“Under the new agreement, Stowford Press will be available both on draught and in 500ml PET bottles at all bars, and there will also be an exclusive, permanent Stowford Press bar at the venue.

“Stowford Press is now the third largest draught apple cider brand in the UK on-trade, worth £76.5m, and our sponsorship with Warwickshire CCC can only help increase our brand awareness in the UK’s second largest city and beyond.”
