Batsman Trott called time on a 16-year playing career at the end of the 2018 season after amassing 18,662 First Class runs, 10,056 List A and 2,147 T20 runs. He made his debut in the 2003 season and went on to win two County Championships, two one-day cups and the T20 Blast, but also enjoyed an excellent international career with England, which saw him win 52 Test and 68 One-Day International caps.
Playing a major role in three Ashes series wins, Trott was awarded the Garfield Sobers Men’s Cricketer of the Year Award by the ICC in 2011 after helping England become the number one Test match team in the world.
Wicket-keeper/batsman McDowall made 12 First Class appearances for the Bears between 1969 and 1973 before winning election to the club’s General Committee in which he stood for 45 years before retiring in 2018. McDowall also stepped up to become Chairman of the Cricket Committee for two short spells in 1984/85 and in 2004.

“Jonathan wore the Bear & Ragged Staff with immense pride around the world and performances with the bat for Warwickshire and England saw him reach the very pinnacle of the game. However, he is also widely recognised as an excellent team man and we wish him every success in his recent move into coaching with England Lions.
“Jamie’s commitment to the Club’s prosperity, through his Committee presence, over such a long period of time, fully merits recognition with the Club’s highest honour. I extend my thanks to Jamie for his counsel during my years as Chairman.”
