Mousley scores ton in England Under 19s victory

Warwickshire academy graduate Dan Mousley made his maiden ODI century for England Under 19s earlier today in a big 152-run victory over Sri Lanka in the Plate final of the ICC Under 19s Cricket World Cup.

Eighteen-year-old batsman Mousley, who plays for Berkswell CC and previously attended Bablake School, had already impressed during the tournament with scores of 51 not out against Australia and 57 not out versus Japan.

However, opening the batting against Sri Lanka, he gave England the ideal platform to mount a big total, of 279 for seven, by contributing 111 off 135 balls, including nine fours and one six.

Mousley finishes the ICC Under 19s Cricket World Cup with 246 runs, at an average of 80.33, in his five innings played for England.

He will now return to Edgbaston to join up with the Warwickshire squad in the remaining stages of the pre-season programme, including the tour to La Manga Club, Spain.
