Sam Hain believes that Warwickshire's younger guns "are learning" - and that bodes well for the future.
The Bears exited the Royal London Cup at the group stage after giving themselves too much to do after a slow start in the North Group.
Deprived by injuries of Ian Bell, Olly Stone and Adam Hose, who would have been three of the first names on the team-sheet, the Bears fielded a young team which took time to adjust to the congested format.

But they showed what they could do when Lancashire visited Edgbaston on Community Fun Day. The Red Rose arrived knowing that a win would seal qualification, only to be denied by a fine Bears performance headed by 23-year-old Hain with important contributions from other young guns, Alex Thomson with the ball and Liam Banks and Alex Mellor with the bat.
“It was not an ideal campaign but, while we all want to do well now, it’s not all about now, it’s about the future,” said Hain. “The lads are learning and that’s the main thing.
“At times we showed what we could do, like against a very good Lancashire side when we put a really solid game together with bat and ball. We had a good crowd in for Community Day and put on a really good show for them.
“We have been a little bit short in some areas so to put on a good show with bat and ball in front of a big crowd was great.”
