Incredible volunteers from the heartlands of Warwickshire recreational cricket have been honoured at an awards lunch at Edgbaston.

The Warwickshire Outstanding Services to Cricket Awards (OSCAs) is an annual event recognising the invaluable work of volunteers throughout the county. They also form part of the wider ECB NatWest OSCAs which sees winners in various categories honoured at a national level at Lord’s.

Bears and England legend Ian Bell presented awards to the Warwickshire winners, with the first four listed receiving invites to Lord’s as well. The full list:

Trevor Brown (Umpires), Pete Clark (Alcester & Ragley), John Cartwright (Fillongley) and Angela Brown (Moseley Ashfield) all won awards but will receive them on different occasions.

Ed McCabe, general manager of Warwickshire Cricket Board, said: “Volunteers do such vital work, week in and week out, to help cricket clubs thrive.

“These brilliant men and women, who are so generous with their time and expertise, are collectively a true powerhouse behind the great game of cricket and I extend WCB’s congratulations and warmest thanks to those who have received richly-deserved OSCAs.
