Former Yorkshire spinner to speak at next Cricket Society meeting

Former Yorkshire and England off-spinner Geoff Cope has been confirmed as speaker for the next meeting of the Midlands branch of the Cricket Society, which takes place at Edgbaston on Tuesday 20 November.

Cope enjoyed a 15 year career in the First Class game, where he took 686 wickets in 246 games at an average of 27.7, which included eight wickets in three Test appearances for England on the 1977 tour of Pakistan. He also took 29 wickets in 44 List A games, which includes two appearances in England colours.

Warwickshire Members and guests are very welcome to attend the event, which starts at 8pm, but are asked to support the raffle.
