We’ve linked up with FBC Manby Bowdler and Marco-Pierre White to offer Members and Bears fans a chance to vote for their Warwickshire County Cricket Club Player of the Month.
Over the month of August, Birmingham Bears played six games including the exciting two-run victory away at Northants Steelbacks, our convincing eight-wicket win away at Durham Jets, and the nail biting quarter final at The Oval against Surrey.
For August we have the following nominations:

Grant Elliott

Scoring 121 runs and bowling 14 overs at an economy of 8.5, Elliott has played a big part in securing Birmingham’s place at Finals Day. A match-winning knock of 58 not out in 37 balls against Surrey was a highlight of the month in his second game as T20 Captain for the Bears. Cameo batting roles of 23 (18 balls) and 38 (25 balls) against Northants Steelback and Worcestershire Rapids, respectively, has seen Grant become a fan’s favourite in the short format.

Ed Pollock

Ed Pollock had unmatched record of seven win in his first seven games in the run-up to NatWest T20 Blast Finals Day. Having made his debut in July, the powerful young player boasted a strike rate of 197.14 in August, including 52 from 25 away at Durham Jets and 49 off 24 balls in the must-win game away to Lancashire Lightning. He also got the Bears off to the perfect start in the quarter final victory over Surrey, with an explosive 24 of 10, including a six off Jade Dernbach in the second ball of the innings.

Dom Sibley

Our newest recruit has started well for the Bears with both bat and ball during the T20 Blast campaign. He scored 49 runs off 34 balls and took one wicket for 20 off his four overs on debut at Edgbaston against local rivals Worcestershire Rapids. The 21-year-old followed this up with 51* (38) against Durham Jets and 53 (38) against Lancashire Lightning. In five games, Sibley has scored 162 runs with a strike rate of 125.58 and an average of 40.5. With the ball, Dom has bowled 13 overs at an economy rate of 7.38.

Aaron Thomason

The young Birmingham-born all-rounder got his name in the headlines following his passion and cool head during the live Sky game against Northamptonshire Steelbacks. Needing 13 off the last over and Alex Wakely on 40 not out, Aaron kept his calm and managed to only go for 10 from his over, especially after Wakeley hit a six from the third ball of the over. Following that game, Thomason scored 33* (16) against Worcestershire Rapids, which nearly got us to the target, and then 42 (23) against Notts Outlaws. With a strike rate of 189.58 and an average with the ball of 26.25, there is never a dull moment when Aaron is involved.
