The Edgbaston Foundation are asking for support as they look to help a local charity.
The Edgbaston Foundation is encouraging Warwickshire Members and supporters to back their Christmas shoebox appeal.
This year, the Foundation has put a strong emphasis to support a local charity, and after serious consideration have chosen Anawim.
The charity, which is based only a ½ mile away from the stadium, helps vulnerable women at risk of marginalisation due to life circumstances.
Over the course of 2020, the Edgbaston Foundation will be undertaking initiatives that support Anawim and its service users and this is a great way to kick off the relationship.
“Making a difference in our local community is something we are very passionate about especially during the Christmas season,” said Ravi Masih, Head of Community Engagement.
“We would be delighted to have supporters join staff and players in giving back by supporting the shoebox appeal.
“This year’s Christmas appeal is in aid of Anawim, a fantastic charity only ½ a mile from the stadium that provide invaluable support to local women and their families.
“In 2020 the Edgbaston Foundation will be collaborating with Anawim and we are looking forward to making a difference so close to home. Supporting Anawim at Christmas is the perfect way to begin our relationship with the charity.”
If you wish to support please bring your shoebox to the Carol Service next Tuesday 10th December.
The Warwickshire playing staff (men’s & women’s) will be making their own shoeboxes and will deliver all donations to the Charity the following day.
Here is a list of what to include (and not to include) when putting together your shoebox:
- Pair of colourful or patterned socks/ slipper socks
- Hot water bottle
- Picture frames
- Puzzles
- Moisturising products such as lip salves/ hand cream
- Toiletries/body wash/face scrubs
- Gloves
- Scarves
- Winter Hats
- Mini umbrellas
- Small items of colourful stationery
- Mini perfume
- Mini toiletries set
- Fold-up brush/ mirrors
- Hairbrush/Hair Accessories
Please don’t include:
- Alcohol of anything sharp
- Small bags of sweets
- Small bags of chocolate/ chocolate coins
- Bracelets/ pendants
- Sanitary products
