Dan Mousley in England U19 squad for summer tri-series

The spinning all-rounder is part of a 16-man squad that will face Bangladesh and India at six venues around England.

Warwickshire all-rounder Daniel Mousley has been included the England U19s squad for the tri-series against India U19 and Bangladesh U19 which takes place in July and August.

Mousley, who turned 18 on Monday, signed his professional contract in May having been part of Warwickshire’s Performance Pathway since the age of eight.

This will be the former second time that the former Bablake School pupil has been selected for Jon Lewis’ side after joining the Young Lions on their Bangladesh tour at the beginning of the year.

The squad will be captained by Lancashire’s George Balderson and features players from 11 counties, all of whom will be available for selection for the ICC U19 World Cup in South Africa in early 2020.

England U19 Head Coach, Jon Lewis said: “We’re expecting a big test against India and Bangladesh this summer. They are two countries who are very strong at this level of cricket.

“We enjoyed a brilliant learning experience on tour to Bangladesh in the New Year, where our players were tested in some unfamiliar conditions, so it will be interesting to see if we can turn the tables on home soil.

“These fixtures are excellent for developing a player’s skills, experience and character. Some of the best young cricketers from the three countries will be battling against each other and these ‘best versus best’ experiences are what we feel give the players the greatest opportunity for learning whilst on the international pathway.”
