The next meeting of the Midlands Branch of the Cricket Society takes place on Tuesday 22 November when the guest will be Paul Nixon, the former Leicestershire, Kent and England wicket-keeper.

Nixon enjoyed a 23-year career in the domestic game, where he won two County Championships and three T20 Cups with Leicestershire.

He made his international debut at the surprisingly late age of 36 in England’s International T20 against Australia in the 2006/07 tour. Selection followed for the One Day International triangular series against Australia and New Zealand and he was a key part of the subsequent ICC Cricket World Cup in the West Indies, winning 19 ODI caps in total.

The meeting will be held at Edgbaston starting at 8pm and Warwickshire Members, friends and guests are welcome to attend, but are asked to support the raffle
