Warwickshire County Cricket Club has announced that, after nearly eight years as Commercial Director, Gareth Roberts has decided to leave the club in order to pursue new opportunities elsewhere.

During his time with the club Gareth has been responsible for overseeing significant growth in the club’s overall commercial revenues, including Major Match Day ticket sales and the Commercial Partnership programme. Gareth also led a complete review of the club’s brand, marketing and communication strategy and has transformed the club’s social media and digital output.

He was a member of the Executive team that delivered the first ever Day/Night Test Match in England in 2017 and that successfully secured 31 days of Major Matches from 2020 – 2024. He has also played a major part in building the T20 Blast Finals Day into the highlight of the domestic cricket season.

Gareth also built an excellent Commercial Team during his time with the club who have helped him to deliver record commercial revenues, peaking this year with the ICC Cricket World Cup and Ashes Test Match.

Club Chairman, Norman Gascoigne, commented: “We wish Gareth the very best of luck in the next stage of his career and thank him for everything that he has done for Warwickshire County Cricket Club, the Birmingham Bears and Edgbaston Stadium.”
