Warwickshire CCC and Ian Bell are both nominated for an award at the Birmingham Sports Award.

Warwickshire’s title winning season has been recognised with two award nominations at the Birmingham Sports Awards which are being held on Wednesday 10 October at Edgbaston Stadium.

Jim Troughton’s side are up for the Team of the Year alongside Solihull Moors and the Solihull Men’s Water Polo Team, whilst batsman Ian Bell is vying for the Professional Sportsman of the Year Award against athlete Matthew Hudson-Smith and Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish.

Bell was named in the Greene King Team of the Year following a fantastic season that saw him score 1,833 runs across all formats, including seven centuries.

Other awards on the evening include Professional Sportswoman of the Year, Manager/Coach of the Year and Volunteer of the Year.

The Birmingham Sports Awards celebrate and reward the outstanding achievements of Birmingham’s exceptional sporting successes.

Across professional and amateur sport in the area, disabled and non-disabled people will be recognised, demonstrating to the wider community that Birmingham really is home to some of the most successful sporting talents and rising stars in the country today.

In attendance for Warwickshire will be Chief Executive Neil Snowball, Ian Bell and bowlers Henry Brookes and Oliver Hannon-Dalby.

Neil Snowball will also be presenting the Community Award, which is Edgbaston Stadium’s sponsored category.
