Tony Frost

Captain turned coach

Troughts epitomises everything great about the Bears. Having been involved with the club since the age of 11 he was awarded a professional contract in 1999 and soon became an integral part of the first team before progressing to England honours in 2003.

After being awarded the captaincy in 2011, Jim guided the Bears to silverware in the County Championship in 2012, cementing his reputation as a true leader of the pack.

Despite his playing career being cut short through a back injury in 2014, it was testament to Jim's character and standing at Edgbaston that the club wasted no time in appointing him as part of the backroom staff as fielding coach.

He was subsequently named First Team Coach in December 2016 as part of the club's new look cricket management team.
