Played under lights at Edgbaston and using a pink ball, Warwickshire lost two early wickets after winning the toss and batting.

A partnership of 88 between Umeed 45 and Lamb 54 ended when both men were dismissed with the total on 112.

The innings was then dominated by a century from Thomason 120, that included 18 fours and a six as he with support from Javid 29 and Thornton 15 helped Warwickshire reach 304-9 from 97.1 overs before declaring. For Worcestershire, Twohig 5-61 bad Brown 2-41 were their most successful bowlers.

In reply, Worcestershire lost wickets regularly just as a partnership was beginning to look threatening, with Westbury 63 and Dell 65 top scoring before declaring just four runs in arrears in the one hundredth over of their innings.

Brookes 3-39 was the pick of the Warwickshire bowlers, with Poysden, Thornton and Joshi taking the other wickets to fall.

In their second innings, Warwickshire again made a poor start losing three wickets for just 39 before an unbeaten century from Lamb 127* and 75 from Banks helped them reach 269-5 before a second declaration left Worcestershire needing 275 for victory with a little more than a session and a half remaining.

Early wickets left Worcestershire 74-4 in the thirteenth over before Kervezee 43 and Milton 35* saw the visitors through to stumps with the match drawn.

Warwickshire's Spencer 3-21 with wickets from Javid and Thornton took the five wickets to fall.
