Warwickshire all-rounder Keith Barker is one of three joint leaders of the Professional Cricketers’ Association Most Valuable Player Rankings.

Barker is level with Middlesex opening batsman Sam Robson and Yorkshire’s batsman/wicketkeeper Jonathan Bairstow on 109 points, one ahead of Nottinghamshire seamer Jake Ball, whose impressive early season form has won him a first call-up by England for next week’s first Test against Sri Lanka.

Barker took five wickets – three of them in the top four of Somerset’s order – in this week’s rain-ruined draw at Edgbaston to take 23.29 points from the match to return to the top of the PCA MVP Rankings after a two week absence.

The PCA MVP, which was introduced in 2007, is designed by the players to find the cricketers who really win matches by combining all aspects of a player’s performance to give a ranking in relation to his peers.
